Your ideal summer is spent as a jack-of-all trades in summer camp. You enjoy talking with people, leading a team, juggling logistics, and inspiring youth.

Time Commitment: 40+ (during Summer), P/T in Spring

Mar-June 10: P/T 5-10 hour per week (can be evenings and weekends)

June 13 - Aug 7: Typically 40+ hours per week

This is a temporary, seasonal role from March - July.

General Description:

Oversee the staffing, instruction, and operations for elementary-age day camps at Green Hills Elementary, the Millbrae site for Camp Brainy Bunch. This site runs for 5 weeks and hosts camps with 10-60 campers each week. This is primarily an administrative role taking the lead in parent communication, staff management, and program operations. Occasionally directors jump into the day-to-day and may be called on to lead games, support curriculum, or throw a water balloon or two. Your office may be a classroom or a playground; everyday is a little different.

This is a temporary summer role with opportunities for individuals to join us for 5 or more weeks from June 25 - July 27.

Pre-Camp: March - June (weekends and evenings)

  • Attend director training (weekend in April, TBA)
  • Select/Interview your camp teams, with assistance from HQ (March-May)
  • Help prepare supplies for deployment to your sites (Early June)

Camp: June - August

  • Participation in all staff training (select days between June 11-15)
  • Camper and Parent Communications (email and phone)
  • Site Operations:
    • Organize load in/out of camp supplies
    • Supervise and lead staff teams for your site(s)
    • Ensure quality program delivery through site visits, observations, and coaching
    • Host weekly staff meetings
    • Ensure delivery and distribution of catered lunches
    • Model professionalism in an Education and Recreation setting
    • Daily communication with all site teams and HQ
    • Organize final load out and storage of camp supplies

  • Current certified teacher with an interest in advancing into an administrative role
  • Experience managing/coaching staff
  • Direct summer camp experience
  • 4 year degree in Education, Recreation, Business Management, or related field
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (Training Available)


  • Ability to speak confidently and enthusiastically with parents and staff
  • Direct experience working with students / youth
  • Flexible and willing to support camp wherever needed
  • Ability to learn and use new software
  • Ability and skills necessary work independently
  • Daily reliable transportation
  • Creativity, trustworthy, high-energy, passionate for camp, inspiring, excellent communicator, organized, and flexible

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
